In 2019, the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt van Rijn’s death will be honored with numerous activities. Experience the Netherlands in the time of Rembrandt and the Golden Age with special exhibitions. The exhibitions have different themes that together form a story. Discover Rembrandt and the Golden Age in which he lived.

The Golden Age is a period in Dutch history that largely coincides with the seventeenth century. When Antwerp was taken by the Catholic Spanish troops in 1585, half of the population fled to the Netherlands for religious and economic reasons, giving art and the economy an enormous boost!
